Do you know a community or environment project in Birmingham that’s in need of a cash boost? If so, then funding from Veolia’s EnviroGrant scheme could be just the ticket.
Veolia, the resource management company working in partnership with Birmingham City Council, is appealing for projects that make a positive difference in their communities, to apply for funding before the end of May 2017.
Toby Terlet, general manager for Veolia in Birmingham, commented: “Every year our EnviroGrant scheme gives out £10,000 to local community projects in Birmingham, with grants being awarded twice a year. Our next round of applications will be closing at the end of May and we’d encourage any not-for-profit organisations in need of funding to apply.
“Grants up to £1,000 can be awarded to help local people in Birmingham improve school facilities, outdoor education, community areas, and even wildlife projects. The projects must be working to leave a lasting legacy in its communities, creating spaces and places that benefit the environment and people who use them.”
The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country, Friends of Masefield Community Garden, Starbank School, Octavius Learning and Development Partnership and Al Ameen School all received grants in the last round to help get their community projects underway.
Toby said: “We are always really impressed with the work all of the projects that our EnviroGrant scheme has supported. Each year £10,000 in grants is given out, with at least 10 organisations receiving up to £1000 each. From schools to community centres, the projects all work to help improve people’s quality of life.”
