Coffee pod recycling is now available at Birmingham household recycling centres (HRC). Don't forget to separate plastic and aluminium pods before recycling them at the HRC.
Community Reuse opens the UK's first coffee shop at a household recycling centre. The single-use coffee cups used will be recyclable and reusable coffee cups will be encouraged and also sold at the coffee shop.

The EnviroGrant Scheme is now open for applications until 30 November to help Birmingham based community groups, societies and charities to improve the environment around them. Eligible groups can apply for grants up to £1,000 and a minimum of 10 groups will be awarded a piece of £10,000 pot.
Following a period of closure related to nearby roadworks, the city’s Castle Bromwich Household Recycling Centre (HRC) will re-open on Thursday (June 18).
As at all of Birmingham’s other HRCs, visits can only be made by those who book a slot in advance via the web.
The same restrictions and rules that apply at the other sites also apply (cars only, one visit per vehicle per week and the vehicle used must be the one that is mentioned when completing the form).

A new online booking system has been introduced to access Birmingham’s network of HRCs in recognition of the fact COVID-19 social distancing measures are set to remain in place for the foreseeable future.

As part of the ongoing review of services during the coronavirus pandemic, four of the five household recycling centres in Birmingham will reopen Thursday 7 May. This is with the exception of the Castle Bromwich site which will remain closed due to urgent road works being carried out on the road leading up to the recycling centre.
